Why Should I Read Formula?

"Since
this list is birthed out of Barb's lifestyle and book, I think it
would greatly improve this main list if reading the book was
required. Our focus would be where it is suppose to be: on
the Lord and His leading in the education of our children.
It would also help us to encourage one another as we journey on
through the high school years with our children."

I totally, completely, 100% agree! It would also
improve the homeschooling-lifestyles (which are completely one and the same;
not two separate things) of everyone here, as well as the relationships with
their children, their husbands, and their Lord. I GUARANTEE it.
This is not a put-down on or a scolding of those who have
not read the book ~ and I mean in its entirety; not just pieces of it. It
~ and what I am about to say ~ is ONLY a truth-filled "word in
season" spoken with great love for each precious mom here on these lists,
and especially those who are struggling with their children, their
"homeschooling," and themselves, including how they feel deep-down
inside about what is going on in their homes and their children.
My book does not have all the answers. I would
never be so presumptuous as to make such a claim. But it DOES do these
things:
~ loosen chains
~ start the process of renewing your mind
~ peel off the facade of the school system
~ reveal some of God's heart behind "education,"
and...
~ point you to the One who wants to free you and lead you
in not only how you "homeschool," but in how you LIVE your
LIFE.
Jesus said: "I am the WAY and the TRUTH and
the LIFE." This applies to the (true) education of our children as
much as it does to ANY area of our life!!! But most homeschooling parents
~ yes, the vast majority ~ do not even have a taste or a clue of what is on
GOD's heart; they FIRST get their philosophy of education (and *everyone* has
one; it's just a question of whether or not they got it from God or the world)
all nicely and securely hemmed in with their scope-and-sequence-approved
text-and-workbooks, and THEN ... MAYBE ... they ask God the help or lead
them! But how much is He free to do when you have Him coralled into a
little teensy box?!?!?!?!?!?! VERY LITTLE. Sisteren, my DEAR
sisteren!!! THIS OUGHT NOT TO BE SO!!!!!!! God has
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much MORE for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are
not urging you to READ THE BOOK because we enjoy being controlling and
legalistic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ONLY want you to
enjoy everything the Lord has for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
